About Us

Broadstairs Business Club is a networking group of like-minded, entrepreneurial businessmen and businesswomen, based in Broadstairs, Kent with a view to networking and building up a referrals-based business.

Meetings

Broadstairs Business Club meets fortnightly on alternate Thursday mornings between 7.15am and 9.00am. We meet at Thanet Squash Rackets Club although every now and again, we may move the meeting to another venue to add some variety.

  • 7.15am - Arrive for informal networking opportunities
  • 7.30am - Breakfast - a choice of bacon rolls, porridge, fruit, toast, etc.
  • 8.00am - Meeting commences
  • 9.00am - End of meeting and further networking opportunities

Our Committee

Executive committee positions will be decided through an annual election of officers every 12 months after the first year of business. Those positions for the 12 months ending in November 2022 are as follows:

Membership & Requirements

Any entrepreneurial business people are welcome to join us at any meeting and although they will be encouraged to join if the existing membership recognises the benefits of having them as new members. No pressure will be exerted on guests to join Broadstairs Business Club.

Membership will be limited to only one business per sector or category. For example, Broadstairs Business Club would only have one plumber, one electrician or one lawyer at any one time.

Broadstairs Business Club recognises that with networking, you get out what you are willing to put in and so there are a few rules that members need to adhere to:

  • Regular attendance at meetings - at least one per month and 15 per year
  • New members will need to attend a minimum of 4 meetings in their first 3 months of membership
  • Commitment to fellow members to support Broadstairs Business Club
  • Regular communication with group members on attendance and absence
  • Short introductions at the start of each meeting with the opportunity to introduce their business
  • Opportunity to present to the group in an approximate 5-10 minutes allocated slot
  • Opportunities to invite guests along to the meetings to enable Broadstairs Business Club to grow
  • Commitment to attending 1-2-1s with existing members to share the benefits and key selling points of our respective businesses
  • Recommendation of members' businesses to other business or personal contacts where the opportunity arises

Joining Broadstairs Business Club

Applications from potential new members are considered on a case by case basis and upon acceptance will be subject to a probationary period of 3 months.

There is an annual £210 fee which covers the cost of your standard breakfast consisting of toast & jams as well as tea, coffee & juices. Part of the membership fee goes towards any small but necessary expenses as well as contributions to causes in and around the Broadstairs community.
